As men, there are some double standards that we live by. Some are known, such as expecting the toilet seat down when we go to use the bathroom, but forgetting to put it down after we are done. Some are a little more subconscious, such as infidelity. While all of us are certainly not perfect, cheating has been a subject we have had to deal with at some point in our lives. Most of the guys reading this may have been the ones who did the cheating. You may have or have not even got caught. Depending on how you answered the last question could determine the lesson you learned(if any). Some of you that cheated on your girl begged her to stay, though it was you who messed up. What if things were different though, and she cheated on you?

Whether you want to admit or not, the double standard in many of our minds is that if my wife/girlfriend cheated on me, and I found out, it’s over. What if, however, she had a “valid” reason. The same reason we would give if we cheated on her? I can say that I have cheated before, and would not do it again. I can also say that I have been cheated on before, and lived this very double standard. It didn’t matter what the girl said the reason was she stepped out, in my mind we were through. Ironically it was just a year prior I had cheated on someone, and tried to work things out with that female. Ironic?

Think about your current relationship, and how strong it really is. You never know this until you go through some adversity, and infidelity will test your relationship to it’s very core. There is no right or wrong answer when the person who has been cheated on decides to either stay or bounce. What would you do?
