At one point in my life, Allen Iverson was the best basketball player in the world. A lot has changed since that was fact. Almost a decade after “The Answer” put the 76ers on his back and led them to the NBA Finals, he is now looking from the outside at the upcoming NBA Season, and desperately looking for work. Iverson is so desperate to play basketball that it looks like he is going to be ballin in Turkey this year. Yeah, Turkey. For some reason, I don’t think I can catch those games on Direct TV.
Check out some of A.I’s best moments as a NBA player after the jump.

Just a reminder, the latest ESPN 30 for 30 film, titled No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson will make it’s worldwide TV debut tonight on ESPN.
Directed by Kartemquin Films, No Crossover examines the events around the 1993 bowling alley brawl that took place in Hampton, VA, when then high school standout Iverson was the biggest thing going. Iverson was arrested and jailed for enciting the fight, which divided an entire city along racial lines. It’s noted that Iverson did not take part in any of the filming of the movie.

Basketball is and will always be my favorite sport, and Allen Iverson has been my favorite player since I was a kid. I followed A.I from the time he set foot on the court wearing a Georgetown uniform, teaming up with Victor Page in the backcourt, leading the Hoyas to national prominence. I remember the day Iverson was selected by the 76ers in the draft. Some of the moments etched in my mind by one of the most dominant scorers in NBA history are now being overshadowed by personal issues, and his fall from grace. [click to continue…]
