More often than not, the older you get, the less picky you seem to get regarding your standards with women. Now I know that statement does not apply to everyone, but think about the things a woman had to have just five years ago to you, and compare it to now. Personally, I did not want to date a woman who did not have a college degree(masters preferred), who did not aspire to have a successful career, who did not have any children, never had been married, had assets(house/car) etc. I have dated quite a few of those women that fit that description, and found they have just as many “issues” as those that are missing 1 to 2 things off that list. Recently, I met a woman out at a networking event, and the conversation turned from professional to personal. When I asked her about her current relationship status, the answer given to me was similar to what I find on some people’s Facebook pages. “It’s complicated”. Unlike some guys who see that as a challenge to “win” the woman from the other man, I quickly wrapped up the convo and kept it moving. Some of you may be asking why? To me it’s simple. Some people are not able to effectively end a relationship. For various reasons, ranging from emotional ties to financial gains to fear of failure, they keep the dim light burning. The problem is, those same people ignore the obvious real life signs that the relationship has had it’s best days. What are some of those signs? Check the list below.

This weekend, a new year will be upon us. Anytime the calendar changes, friends of mine usually go overboard with their resolutions. Some say they are going to quit smoking/drinking/doing drugs/watching porn/eating junk food/etc, and they do good, for about 12 days. By Martin Luther King Day, they are back to doing the same old mess. Others actually are much more strong willed with their desire to change, however, life may throw them a curve ball which makes their resolution fail.

Teena Marie, born Marie Christine Brockert, was an award-winning music icon and was an immaculate singer and songwriter. She was known as “The Ivory Queen of Soul”. Amongst her many hits, “Lovergirl” was the greatest and peaked number four on The Billboard Top 100 list in 1984. She was known as Rick James’ protégé and reached to fame and distinctiveness in the late 70s and 80s when she began her personal and business relationship with funk legend Rick James. She released 13 studio albums, Two of her albums went platinum, and six all together were gold. She suffered a seizure last month and has passed due to natural causes. She will be missed greatly and her legend will live on through her music and accomplishments.
