Quality or Quantity – The Sex Debate

Growing up, guys were taught many double standards. One of the most important ones was that it was perfectly ok to live the Lil Wayne Lifestyle “F*** every girl in the world”. As I’ve grown older, though, I have witnessed many friends deal with the cruel repercussions of a reckless youth, which included kids by women they didn’t love, child support payments, disruption of higher education, and an overall delay in their “american dream”.

Looking back, I remember a debate I had about quality vs. quantity in women. The points we made as teenagers still ring true today.

Quantity

The Pros:

1. Experience – You get better only by practice.

2. Refine your tastes – The more you sample different options, the more you will know what you really “like” i.e older women vs younger, black women vs white, etc…

3. Emotional Detachment. The more sex you have, the least likely you will feel the heartstrings being pulled by a woman you just finished having a hour long marathon with. You will be able to simply get up, clean up, and roll out, while she lays in the pillow of bodily fluids left by you both mad because you didn’t want to cuddle.

The Cons:

1. Catching Something – The more you put yourself out there, the more likely you will be exposed to a STD or worst.

2. Relationship issues – Those men who are used to getting some from many women all the time often get bored when they are out and about. These are the “good guys” as women call them. We all know what happens to nice guys though….

3. Never being satisified – No matter how sexy your girl is, the man who can’t get enough will learn to not only take a good woman for granted, but also will compromise other important priorities in his life for sex.

Dealing with quality women, on the other hand, could potentially have a never ending list of pros, with very few cons. So why don’t many brothas opt for the true quality females? Some would say because of the work you have to put in for quality. Many other females, for various reasons (emotional baggage, self-esteem issues, hoodrats, etc) will freely give you some for a value meal from Chic Fil-A for most guys, so putting effort into the pursuit of a woman isn’t always enticing. The other reason is the fear of commitment. Most men realize that quality women also have expectations about their man and their relationship, which could include marriage and kids. For a lot of guys, those two topics mean the end of the conversation.
