6 Things You Give Up in a Relationship

They say relationships are give and take, though guys will be doing much more giving up than their female counterparts once they have decided to settle down with that special one. Your boo may say she doesn’t want you to change, or that she is fine with certain things you do right now, but unless you purge the following activities from your life, your relationship potentially will start off on shaky ground.

6. Free time.
Everyone needs their space, and not all women are control freaks. However, as a single bachelor, you are free to come and go as you please. Not so much the case now. Those Friday nights or Sunday afternoons you once looked forward to as “Me Time” has now been converted to “We Time”.

5. Your female acquaintances.
Notice I did not say female friends, but rather those random women you have numbers saved in your phone from the countless nights out at the bar or special event. This also counts those 349 female friends you have on Facebook which you have never really been “friends” with.

4. Guys Night.
You can have balance in a relationship, but a night on the town with the fellas tips the scales for most ladies. If most of your male friends are single, they will still be doing single guy things, which doesn’t bode well for a brand new settled down guy.

3. Disposable Income.
Relationships are an expense, no matter if your girl is frugal or fancy. The bachelor life can be at times cheap, as you usually are buying groceries, toiletries, and other household items for one. That money you had left over after you pay the bills each payday now all of a sudden goes to special times with your girl.

2. 24 Hour Sports Viewing.
This one is painful for most guys. ESPN and its large family of channels are usually the top channels most heterosexual men watch on a consistent basis. Some of that time allotted for sports will now be filled by Lifetime movies and Tiny and Toya reruns.

1. Being right.
Arguments are going to happen, and you will be wrong 99 percent of the time. Even if you are right, you are wrong in the eyes of your girl. The sooner you realize she will win ALL beefs between the two of you, the smoother your relationship will go.
