7 Signs Your Relationship is Dying

There comes times in relationships when things that used to make you smile don’t. Things that at one point made your day now get on your nerves. Before your once budding relationship gets to the point that you hate your girl, make sure you recognize these vital signs.

7. You don’t “get her” anymore.
At one point you two used to think as one, but somewhere down the line, things began to change. When you no longer truly connect or understand where your girl is coming from, trouble is brewing.

6. Your conversations become more like text messages.
Short and to the point. If you used to enjoy free flowing expressive dialogue back and forth, and now you find yourself with dead air on the phone, she isn’t comfortable talking to you anymore.

5. You start picking fights.
I think we all have been victim of this one. Things are already on the downward spiral, yet you or her start an argument on purpose. Perhaps your girl is in a great mood and you wanna kill her joy, or vice versa. Either way, never something beneficial to a good relationship.

4. The comparisons become more constant.
It’s inevitable that both men and women start comparing their current mate to their ex’s. When everything is going good, you stack up favorably against the past fellas. However, when things are going south, the little things she was able to overlook in the past now become mountains.

3. You stop caring.
This is a very dangerous one. If you get to the point you do things you know will not please your mate intentionally, you are in trouble. By this point, most couples are simply going through the motions, or holding on to hope.

2. Your goals no longer match up.
This is a natural occurrence in a relationship, but one that spells the end as well. A year ago, you both might have looked at having a future with marriage and kids, but somewhere during that time, your goals changed. Perhaps your promotion at your job, or pursuit for a degree in grad school has taken focus away from your relationship. Kids and other family obligations can also do the trick. Either way, the priorities that were originally set have changed for at least one of you, then the end result will likely not be the same.

1. You are emotionally drained.
Love by itself can’t keep two people together. Many people love their mate, but fall out of love with them months before they eventually break up. The emotional toll a failing relationship can have on both people is one not to take lightly. Often times, the temptation of cheating is at it’s peak when multiple symptoms above are around. A good woman that is fed up will be much more incline to listen to that guy who has been trying to get at her forever if you two aren’t working out. Likewise, fellas that have a female they been dying to get with may step out there if they have given up in their current relationship.
